45-Minute ETL Fire Protection
The AM4020 has an ETL-certified fire rating of 45 minutes at 1,200°F. Fire protection panels are incorporated into the safe's construction to provide insulation against high temperatures during the manufacturer's specified fire test conditions.
Heavy-Duty Steel Construction
The AM4020 features a 12-gauge steel body and a 1/4-inch solid steel plate door. The 1-1/8-inch recessed door incorporates fire-insulating material, while three-way bolt work secures the door.
ESL5 Electronic Lock
The AM4020 can be configured with American Security's backlit UL-listed ESL5 electronic lock. The keypad includes a stealth mode that allows keypad operation without audible keypad tones when enabled.
Large Interior Storage
With 4.88 cubic feet of interior capacity, the AM4020 provides more storage space than the smaller AM2020 and AM3020 models. Three adjustable shelves allow the interior to be configured for documents, valuables, firearms, and other items.
Interior Protection
The safe has a gray fabric interior and is lined with fire protection panels. For moisture-sensitive items such as paper documents, American Security recommends additional protective measures because fire-resistant safes that use certain fire-protection materials can release moisture during a fire event.
Anchoring
Four pre-cut anchor holes are provided for securing the safe to a suitable installation surface. The appropriate anchoring method should be selected based on the supporting structure and installation requirements.

Important Notes
- The 45-minute fire rating applies to the manufacturer's specified ETL test conditions and should not be interpreted as a guarantee that every stored item will remain undamaged in every fire.
- American Security identifies the AM4020 as a fire-resistant safe rather than a completely fireproof container.
- Anchoring should be performed using an appropriate method for the supporting surface.
- The safe weighs 316 lbs., so the delivery path, installation location, floor structure, and anchoring requirements should be evaluated before installation.
