Camera-as-a-System Architecture

The MEGApix Ai CaaS platform combines the camera, local storage, edge analytics, and video management functions into one device. With DW Spectrum IPVMS preloaded, the camera can operate as a standalone surveillance solution or be integrated with other supported DW Spectrum systems and CaaS cameras.

The system supports automatic installation and licensing when powered on, helping simplify initial deployment without requiring a separate external recording server for the camera.

4K Imaging & Varifocal Lens

The 4K sensor records video at up to 3840 x 2160 resolution and 30 fps. The 2.7-13.5mm motorized varifocal lens provides a horizontal field of view from 90.3° to 33.1°, allowing the camera's framing and focal length to be adjusted remotely.

The lens also features autofocus, while Star-Light Plus technology supports color imaging in low-light environments.

AI Deep Learning Analytics

The camera includes edge-based deep-learning analytics designed to detect and track objects within the camera's field of view. Users can configure up to 40 detection zones and apply different analytics filters and logical rules.

Supported analytics include object detection, people counting, vehicle detection, intrusion detection, line crossing, direction detection, entering and exiting, tailgating, dwell, abandoned objects, removed objects, and camera tampering.

Onboard Recording

The integrated 1TB storage provides local recording directly within the camera. Digital Watchdog specifies support for up to 90 days of retained video under applicable recording configurations.

Actual recording retention varies depending on resolution, frame rate, compression, recording schedules, analytics settings, and the amount of video activity.

The camera also includes a microSD/microSDHC/microSDXC card slot for additional local storage options.

Night Vision & Outdoor Protection

Smart IR illumination provides up to 100 feet of infrared night vision. The aluminum and polycarbonate enclosure is rated IP67 for outdoor environmental protection and IK10 for impact resistance.

The camera operates from -4°F to 122°F (-20°C to 50°C) at 10% to 90% humidity.
