The Digital Watchdog VMAX IP G4 DW-VG4124T8P is an 8-channel PoE+ network video recorder with four additional IP camera channels, supporting up to 12 IP cameras in total. This configuration includes 4TB of internal storage and eight integrated PoE+ ports for connecting and powering compatible network cameras.
Designed for IP video surveillance systems, the VMAX IP G4 supports recording at resolutions up to 4K UHD, H.264 and H.265 video compression, ONVIF-compatible cameras, remote monitoring, smart search, and multiple recording modes. Its embedded design provides centralized recording and management for small to mid-sized surveillance installations.

8 PoE+ Ports with 4 Additional Channels
The DW-VG4124T8P combines eight integrated PoE+ camera ports with four additional network camera channels. This allows the recorder to support up to 12 IP cameras while providing direct power and network connectivity for cameras connected to its built-in PoE+ ports.
Each PoE+ port supports up to 30W, with a total PoE power budget of 72W for the system. Additional cameras can be connected through the network using the recorder's Gigabit Ethernet connection.
4K Video Recording
The VMAX IP G4 supports IP cameras with resolutions up to 4K UHD (3840 x 2160). The DW-VG4124T8P supports up to 360 fps recording at supported 4K configurations and provides up to 80 Mbps of throughput.
H.264 and H.265 compression support allows the recorder to work with compatible IP cameras using either compression format.
Recording & Playback
The recorder supports several recording modes, including continuous, scheduled, motion detection, sensor-triggered, emergency, and pre/post-alarm recording.
Recorded footage can be located using calendar, event, thumbnail, timeline, and smart motion search tools. Playback speeds range from 1x through higher-speed playback options up to 99x, depending on the selected playback mode.
Remote Access & Management
The VMAX IP G4 platform supports remote monitoring through compatible Digital Watchdog software and mobile applications. PathFinder technology provides NAT traversal for supported remote connections, while CCIP technology provides encrypted camera-to-recorder communication for supported configurations.
The recorder can also be integrated into larger surveillance environments using C3 Central Management Software.
Storage
This DW-VG4124T8P configuration includes a 4TB internal hard drive and one SATA hard-drive bay. Other storage configurations are available within the VMAX IP G4 DW-VG412 series.
Actual recording retention depends on the number of connected cameras, resolution, frame rate, compression settings, recording schedules, and other system settings.
